Description

The name of this one is simply Love,  the portrait of a lady surrounded by birds. 

The mystery of life is fascinating, and it is always reflected in eyes. There are so many contradictory things going on in the psyche, so many things that we try to hide and desire to share.  In my portraits the longing, the struggles and the willpower are all visible. Finding our way through the challenges, our bond and interaction with animals  often offer comfort and reassurance.

The dominant colours here are the green and pink, in a fresh contrast with the black of the  eyes.

The face is painted in oil, over a foundation of news paper collage. There are different languages, scripts even, that depict the rich background and the different layers that make up the landscape of life.  The ultimate layer is epoxy, which makes the image vibrant and makes it shine like a mirror in which you can see yourself.

This is a small painting, ideal as a gift for a special person. By itself, or together with 2 or 3 paintings from the same series
