Description

Here is the portrait of a person surrounded by minimalistic comic figures. We see a cat and a bird, do you see more?  Dark and light blues, pink, the red of the lips and the greenish brim are the most prominent colours. The look in this portrait is deep. Hope is what keeps us going, when there is really only two ways to go: upward or downward. You can see from the expression in her dark eyes and the intensity of the face, that this person  has been challenged in life, just like most of us, and hope is the thing that keeps this person going.  

The painting is done in oil, over a collage of news papers, the drawings are done with markers. The wide brim is painted with spray paint, which gives the image an urban and modern look
