 ‘Ayer’ , the portrait of  an Asian lady whose thoughts we can only guess at. 

The mystery of life is fascinating, and it is always reflected in eyes. There are so many contradictory things going on in the psyche, so many treasures in our memories that we try to hide and desire to share.  In my portraits the longing, the struggles and the willpower are all visible. 

The dominant colours here are oranje and green , in a fresh contrast with the black of the  eyes. 

The face is painted in oil, over a foundation of news paper collage on canvas. There are different languages (German and Hindu) and comics that depict the rich background and the different layers that make up the landscape of life.
